Jeep Compass is now present in Indonesia. Jeep Compass is a compact SUV smaller than the Jeep Grand Cherokee but bigger than Jeep Patriot, it is a blend of 50 percent on road and 50 percent off road. Interior applied the same design as Jeep Patriot, but slightly have a different exterior.
Jeep Compass uses a 2.0-liter DOHC, 16-valve VVT engine, max powered 172 hp and 165 lb-ft of torque. The model has an ultra-Brite 18-inch aluminum rims making it more stylish, sunroof providing fresh air, premium fog lamps, roof rack, rear spoiler. Front wheel suspension uses Macpherson and rear wheel suspension with multi links.
The model is equipped with off-road capabilities such as full-time 4WD with an automatic locker, off road mode, Hill Descent Control (HDC) and Brake Traction Control. Configuration that makes the machine is not wasted when wheel spin or slip due to the system that distributes engine power automatically to the other wheels.
For security, Body Jeep Compass uses thick steel belt 30-mm and 30 safety sensor that can withstand heavy impact. The concept of energy-absorbing crumple zone can be collision without changing the structure of the car cabin. The model also is equipped with side curtain airbags, brake traction control, electronic stability program (ESP), brake assist, electronic roll mitigation and anti-lock brake system (ABS), front-seat side airbags and active head restraints.
Chrysler embed a sensor in the wheel to monitor tire pressure and immediately notify the driver when pressure drops. This model also features a useful mirror brushed grain heating the water and prevents condensation that block the driver's view. For multimedia, Jeep Compass equipped with U-Connect technology, a feature that bridges the smart phone, radio, MP3 player with other gadgets. There are also features voice command to select a radio, make phone calls, change directory CD Player with sound.
Jeep Compass released into the market at a price of IDR 555 million off the road.
