German luxury car manufacturer, Bayerische Motoren Werke (BMW) AG, continues to pour its products into global markets. Including special products made by his division tuners, BMW M.
The manufacturer was already set plans to launch the latest generation BMW M5 sedan. The launch will take place at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2011 which runs from mid-September.
The new BMW M5 sedan called the first sedan that has the most amazing performance. Using a 4400 cc V8 engine capable of spraying power up to 552 horsepower with maximum torque of 502 lb-ft. Torque is achieved at 1,500 rpm engine speed.
Power is channeled to the wheels by using a dual clutch transmission M5 seven speed gears. Thanks to it's huge power, this car accelerates from stand still to a speed of 100 kilometers per hour in just 4.4 seconds with a maximum speed of 304-310 kph.
Interestingly, despite fierce powered with super speed, the car is claimed to be 30 percent more fuel economical than the previous generation. Thanks to the use of the device Start-Stop and Brake Energy Regeneration System (BERS).
Although BMW did not specify what level of fuel consumption on the grounds will be detailed during launch later. Now, the sedan was on display in the arena of Pebble Beach Concours d'Eelgance held on the West Coast, California, United States.
