Chevrolet Colorado officially launched in Bangkok, Thailand. The new pickup is offered in two engine options turbo diesel with 26 variants and will be marketed to 60 countries around the world. The launch in Indonesia is expected next year.
GM selected Thailand as production base given the huge potential market. In addition to working on the domestic market, GM is also supplying the export market, which is not only to the scope of ASEAN, but also the world, which is supplied from Thailand.
Two engine choices are equipped Chevrolet Duramax turbo-diesel 2.8-liter capacity with 180 HP power capability and torque 470 Nm and a capacity of 2.5 liter 150 HP and 350 Nm of torque. Transmission system also has two options, there are 5-speed manual, 6-speed automatic, and transmission center for the transfer of the configuration of 4x2 to 4x4, or viceversa, which is operated electronically.
Regarding security issues, Chevrolet unmitigated offers active and passive safety features, such as electronic stability control, anti-lock braking system with electronic brake-force distribution, traction control, hydraulic brake assist, cornering brake control, and not behind the air bag.
Colorado is marketed in three specification levels, namely LS, LT, and LTZ, depending on the package of comfort and safety features has to offer.
