Toyota FT-86 available in Indonesia by April 2012

PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) has make sure that will bring the FT-86 sport sedan to Indonesia in April 2012. Although the sports sedan market is not too large in Indonesia, Toyota wants to complement the product lines it sells in Indonesia. In addition, the FT-86 is a historic car, because it is a momentum return of Toyota sports cars.

Sports sedan market is usually only a demand by rich people who like driving a car, without the services of drivers, estimates price of the FT-86's at around IDR 500 million per unit.

FT-86 is a sports sedan collaboration beetwen Toyota with Fuji Heay Industries (Subaru). The car uses the 4 cylinder 1998 cc DOHC boxer engine, using gasoline fuel tank with a capacity of around 50 liters. Toyota claims fuel consumption of a sports car reached 12.4 -13 km per liter, with power reaching 200 PS at 7,000 rpm and torque of 205nm (151lb/ft) at 6600 rpm.

Toyota FT-86 draws attention of visitors from abroad in the event the Tokyo Motor Show which opened to the public since 30 November 2011.
