Toyota Etios Valco Launched

The battle in the city car segment will increasingly stringent after the launching of Toyota Etios Valco (Liva). The A-segment car sales in Indonesia had passed quite large last year, at nearly 40 percent compared to 2011.

Previously, in this segment there has been battle beetwen Nissan March, Kia Picanto, Chevrolet Spark, the Daihatsu Sirion, and Suzuki Splash followed by the Honda Brio and Mitsubishi Mirage.

Etios, a Toyota last product that was originally created for India, and Brazil, is now also marketed in Indonesia after the adjustment with the taste of Indonesia. With the Etios assemble in Indonesia, the price could be more competitive. In addition, to ensure the quality of products to consumers Indonesian standards.

The price offered for the Toyota Etios is at IDR 135.5 million for type J. The problem is, this type is not equipped with power steering.

While the price of the most expensive, comes with ABS and EBD plus alloy rims jumped to IDR 161.6 million. PT Toyota Astra Motor officially presenting multipurpose sports car FJ Cruiser to target the consumer market who like off road adventure with rugged terrain. This Jeep class Car were ment to continue the tradition of toughness and ease of handling typical classic FJ-40 series and derivatives.

From side view, FJ-40 aura is felt very strong. Like a touch of classic retro design makes FJ Cruiser sweeter than FJ-40 its ancestors, with the dominance of curved lines rather than straight firm. FJ Cruiser brings up Toyota jeep DNA, developed since 50 years ago. In 1960, Toyota introduced the FJ40 series, which became the forerunner of the FJ Cruiser. With a length of 4.67 m, width 1.9 m, and high 1.83 m, FJ Cruiser carries dual VVTi V6 petrol engine. The car was also supported with five speed transmission, 24 valve DOHC alloy, with a maximum torque of 380.

Similar to its legend, the FJ Cruiser has a logo with the word TOYOTA in front grille, and has a wide windshield with white roof of fiber glass is also a unique characteristic of FJ-40. The Birth of FJ Cruiser can not be separated from the idea to create a new FJ that has the off road ability and toughness, typical FJ-40. FJ Cruiser was introduced at the Chicago Auto Show as a concept car in 2003 and in 2004 performed re-testing with several prototypes made FJ Cruiser, which then taken to extreme off-road course in America.

In 2005, the production version of the FJ Cruiser was introduced at the time of implementation of the NAIAS (North America International Auto Show). This car started reaching the world market in 2007.

This car sales in Indonesia is still as spot orders, which is if there is order then we sent, said one of the TAM officials. The car will be marketed in Indonesia with a price range of IDR 900 million per unit.

New Hiace Minibus

Toyota encourages the development of tourism business by targeting travel agent to market the New Hiace minibus in Indonesia at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2012.



This types of light commercial vehicle market will exist, and continue to grow, mainly used by travel agents to drive from one place to another, such as from the airport to the hotel, even for tourism.

Marketing Director of PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) Joko Trisanyoto explained that today travel agent mainly using minibus modified from light trucks, so it is not comfortable.

Hiace was once marketed by TAM in Indonesia during 1980's, will go on sale again. In Japan, Hiace production continues, it,s just stopped marketed in Indonesia since the 1980's.

New Hiace, will be imported from Japan, the scheme utilizing the Indonesia-Japan Economic Partnership (IJEPA) so it gets a lower import duty facility for vehicles with engine capacity above 2,000 cc. Toyota Hiace is a light commercial vehicles with engine capacity of 2,500 cc. vehicles were first produced and launched in Japan in 1967 and now entering its fifth generation.

The Agya - Ayla Twin Open For Preorder

PT. Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) and PT. Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM) once again collaborate to make cars, the Agya and Ayla that promotes affordable price, interior spaciousness and fuel efficiency.

Previously, these two automakers synergy has spawned deadly duo the Toyota Avanza - Daihatsu Xenia then Toyota Rush - Daihatsu Terios. The Agya and Ayla are planed to follow government programs related to Low Cost Green Car (LCGC).

Both models have a compact interior design but spacious, comfortable and can carry five passengers so it is suitable to family needs. Although it"s cheap, the model has meet safety standards and ensure the safety of drivers. Agya and Ayla has extremely fuel-efficient with 30 KM / L, same as the hybrid but far more in affordable prices, and the greatest thing is, these two new models using local components by 84 percent as well as reinforce the original model produced in Indonesia.

Agya comes in three variants, TRD-S, High-Grade (G), and Medium-Grade (E) with a choice of white, silver, black, metallic gray, light blue and dark blue color exclusive metallic.TRD- S equipped with aerokit to reinforce the impression of sporty. While the G variant features chrome exterior highlight the frontair outlet and fender. Design of the doors and rear spoiler also looks different and more sporty. The standout is the second line that provides leg room is very spacious.

Currently these two still awaiting LCGC regulation to be issued by the government. TAM has not yet officially issued price. However one of the sales person from Auto2000 had dared to say that Agya can already be booked with IDR 5 million with the possibility of delivery between January to March 2013, and price is between IDR 90-100 million.

New Toyota Hilux Double Cabin Matic

PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) launched the new Hilux D-Cab V A/T in Indonesia. This double cabin automatic varian is targeted to the private consumer segment by offering more features, and complements to their previous type that has been marketed namely, E and G Manual.



Therefore, for the new variants, Toyota just focus work on performance and convenience features. While engine performance is still the same with the two older types. In the interior, Toyota completed it with the steering wheel fitted audio control buttons and a multi-information display (MID) on the dashboard, TAM claimed as a first for the double cabins are sold in Indonesia. Another luxury is leather-clad seats, 6 way electric seat control and 17-inch rims.

In the first six months of this year, Hilux (all models) sold 7233 units, shared by single cabin, 3828 units and d-cab 3405 units.

Toyota Soon Begin Etios Production In Brazil

Toyota Motor Corporation has just announced the inauguration of Sorocaba factory in Brazil are prepared to produce Etios in order to reap success in the Brazil and reportedly also Indonesia. The launch Etios in Brazil one strong indication as to what the Etios will be launched in Indonesia.


Seeing the kind of machine is used, it makes sense that Toyota would tackle that fills the Honda Brio city car segment with a 1.3 liter engine. Moreover, in Japan, the Yaris also are equipped with 1.3-liter engine. The engine had some differences with one marketed in India. Choice, there are 1.3 liter and 1.5 liter petrol for the second variant sedan and hatchback. This engine capacity is greater than India are which equipped with 1.2-liter petrol.

In terms of design, Etios look for Brazil and India are basically the same. Only, there are differences in details like the shape rear lights are now bigger with a new composition. The presence of chrome garnish on the top of the license plate also adds to the impression of luxury Etios. The interior also looks more luxurious with a color combination of black and white speedometer on the center console (like Vios). However, air-conditioning duct ornament is still the same as the model in India, except in Brazil already has a 2-DIN audio system and is equipped with dual SRS-Airbag.

Rumour that Etios would go to Indonesia has been circulating since last year. In fact, the photo from test model Etios Liva hatchback has been published by fellow Indonesian blogger.

TAM officially launched the Toyota 86

PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) officially launched the Toyota 86. The premier sports car of Toyota Indonesia was imported intact (completely built-up) from Japan and priced starting from IDR 600 million on the road in Jakarta.

The car which so called "Hachi-Roku", is a collaboration between Toyota and Subaru, for 4U-type boxer engine with a capacity of 1998 cc with the GSE technology called Toyota D-4S (direct injection gasoline 4-srtoke superior), plus a 6-speed manual transmission and automatic.

Power output 200 PS@7.000 and torque 205 Nm@6.400 rpm and is driven by the rear wheels (RWD). Characteristic of this compact sports car, the low center of gravity, only 460 mm. This can be obtained for construction machinery is harisontal boxer engine.

Designed body sharp at the end comes a pair of "eyes" HID projectors and LED rear lights with futuristic design. Impression as aggressive car also looks at the water scoop on the hood plus double exhaust tip. Moreover, side skirts and rear spoiler which makes the aura of a sports car more viscous.

In the interior, to provide the characteristics of sport, Toyota set up a small-diameter steering wheel. Furthermore, the interior is offered in two colors, black and black-red combination. Gear shifted with paddle shift, cruise control, digital and analog panel for the speedometer and tachometer.

Toyota FT-86 available in Indonesia by April 2012

PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) has make sure that will bring the FT-86 sport sedan to Indonesia in April 2012. Although the sports sedan market is not too large in Indonesia, Toyota wants to complement the product lines it sells in Indonesia. In addition, the FT-86 is a historic car, because it is a momentum return of Toyota sports cars.

Sports sedan market is usually only a demand by rich people who like driving a car, without the services of drivers, estimates price of the FT-86's at around IDR 500 million per unit.

FT-86 is a sports sedan collaboration beetwen Toyota with Fuji Heay Industries (Subaru). The car uses the 4 cylinder 1998 cc DOHC boxer engine, using gasoline fuel tank with a capacity of around 50 liters. Toyota claims fuel consumption of a sports car reached 12.4 -13 km per liter, with power reaching 200 PS at 7,000 rpm and torque of 205nm (151lb/ft) at 6600 rpm.

Toyota FT-86 draws attention of visitors from abroad in the event the Tokyo Motor Show which opened to the public since 30 November 2011.

The New Toyota Avanza hit the street

Toyota Avanza has added a new variant of the family alike Avanza 1500 cc engine wear. New Avanza Avanza 1.5 G and Veloz.

The difference was evident on the exterior, visible from the design of grille, front bumper, rear, and the cat's eyes in the back. While from the side, clearly felt the difference with applications in the Avanza Veloz asymmetric rim, and rim the fan on the New Avanza. In addition, the exterior color choices in the Avanza Veloz fewer than New Avanza. In type Avanza Veloz provided four elegant colors of silver mica metallic, dark steel mica, white and black metallic.

While New Avanza is available in eight different colors, namely the four colors plus color Avanza Veloz metallic light blue, maroon mica, metallic gray and champagne metallic.

Scion FR-S, Toyota FT-86 twins

Scion a subsidiary of Toyota launches new Scion sports car FR-S, the model is very popular since it takes the base from concept sports car Toyota FT-86. By playing bodykit it looks so much slimmer. Then, on the front bumper got a touch on a more aggressive grille with a bulge to protect. Design of such lamps with LED eagle eye thicken the impression of sports.

Other changes are quite radical position in front of the engine, but uses the rear wheel drive. This is the origin of the name FR stands for Front-engine Rear wheel drive, and S of Sport. 2014 Toyota Supra

Toyota shows their future legendary sports car the Toyota Supra in cyberspace. The exotic DNA of the sports cars such as it'ss predecessor had remained attached, with of course a more modern touch. The car is also known as the Mk IV series products can be enjoyed in 2014.

Overhaul includes changes to dimensions and also forms a more or less took the blueprint FR-S Scion and Lexus LFA. Style C-pillars that look like the rear body wrap is a twin of the FT-HS Concept.

This rear wheel coupe is likely to be carrying V6 engine with additional power supply from the turbocharger.

Toyota RAV4 EV 2012

Next year, Toyota is ready to market RAV4 EV (electric vehicle) or second-generation Gen II. using electric motors made by Tesla. But first-generation RAV4 EV will still use the electric motors made by Toyota. Still, Toyota Motor Corp. (TMC) hand over Gen II production base RAV4 at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada, Inc. (TMMC) in Woodstock.

Toyota is investing US$ 100 million to the Tesla. Was to supply fresh funds electric motor drive systems, including batteries, motors, gearboxes, and power electronics that will be used on the RAV4 EV second generation.

In terms of appearance, any exterior changes to the RAV4 Gen II, covering the front bumper, grille, headlights, fog lamp, alloy wheels and more large as 18 inches. Including interior seat trim, a multimedia display on the dash, push-button shifter, and panel meters.

Regarding performance, although the RAV4 EV Gen II engine weighs 100 kg heavier than the conventional version of the V6, acceleration is almost same. Under conditions of full battery, a car can cruise 160 km.

Grand New Fortuner 2011

PT. Toyota Astra Motor introduced the Grand New Fortuner who continued existence of the 7 seater concept SUV that rolled across Indonesia since 2005.

Still using the previous chassis, the Grand New Fortuner carries a number of changes that crisscross the rearview mirror with turn signal, the design of the headlamps, radiator grille, hood, front bumper, fog lamps, over fenders and fender design and angle sensors.

The interior is similar to it's predecessor. Small change, but meaningfull, come on the instrument panel, combination meter, gear lever and wood ornaments black wood steering wheel on the center dashboard.

Grand New Fortuner is available in 4 variants with a choice of two diesel and two petrol engines. For the diesel engine option consisted 2.5G diesel manual 4x2, 4x2 disesel 2.5G automatic, while the petrol engine option is a 2.7G automatic Lux 4x2 and 4x4 Automatic 2.7V.

For diesel engines, vehicles that have the same platform with the Hilux is equipped machine VNT type 2 KD-FTV 2.5-liter D-4D common rail direct injection turbo. While the petrol version uses the machine type 2 TR-FE 2.7-liter DOHC VVT-i is capable of collecting power of 160 hp at 5200 rpm with torque of 241Nm at 3800 rpm.

TAM promised to immediately release the price of Grand New Fortuner at the time the vehicle was officially launched in Indonesia Inernational (IIMS) 2011 which will run from June 22 to 31 later.
